A Walk Around Phuket is a walk around the entire coastline of the island, walked in stages, one morning at a time, beginning in mid-August 2026.
​
It has two aims: to bring people together, and to raise funds for the children of Phuket who need it the most.
How It Works
The walk is divided into 21 stages of about 10 to 12 kilometers each — a single morning's walk. Each stage is walked separately, over the coming months.

Every stage is open to anyone who'd like to join for the morning. You don't need to be an athlete, and you don't need to commit to all 233 kilometers. You just show up for one morning and walk a stretch of coast with whoever else turns up that day.

Before each stage, I share where and when I'll set off, so anyone who'd like to walk alongside can find me. You're welcome to come along as an independent walker, at your own pace and your own risk — and to ask me anything beforehand.

Why We Walk
We build community
Community isn't something you find. It's something you build, with other people, around a shared purpose, one small act at a time.

We raise awareness and funds
Phuket is known for its beaches and its visitors. Less visible are the children who live here with far less: children going without the education, safety and care that others take for granted.
​
So during the length of this project, I will point at the children who live in different areas of the island and ask people to help. There are partner organisations supporting these children and every donation goes directly to the one you choose.
We empower
It's easy to look at problems this size and feel too small to help. That feeling is the real obstacle, not indifference, but the sense that whatever you could offer wouldn't matter. This walk is built to prove otherwise: a single morning, a single stretch of coast, an amount you choose.

And it works both ways. The organisations we walk for aren't handing out charity; they're giving children an education, a safe home and the confidence to build their own lives. What we raise doesn't rescue anyone. It puts tools in their hands.

The Route
Who We Walk For
SOS Children's Villages Thailand provides loving, family-like care to children who have lost parental care, or are at risk of losing it. The Phuket village, in Koh Kaew, was built in 2007 following the 2004 Tsunami, and raises children in family houses where they grow up with the stability, education and sense of belonging that every child deserves.
What your support provides: unlike a one-off project, donations here go to the children's everyday care and, above all, their education — school, food, healthcare, and a safe home to grow up in. Donations through SOS Children's Villages Thailand's official channel are tax-deductible in Thailand.

SOS Children's Village Phuket

Five local organisations caring for underserved children across Phuket. Every donation goes directly to the one you choose.
Since 2005, this foundation has given underprivileged Thai children free English education in the government schools of Kamala and Kalim, opening the door to better work and a way out of poverty. Many of the children live at the school because they have no place to call home, and the after-hours Coconut Club programme helps them build confidence as well as language.
What your support provides:Â 10,000 baht sponsors a child's English education and after-school club for a whole year.

Phuket Has Been Good To Us
A registered NGO on Koh Sireh that has given a family-style foster home to children in need since 2005 — today, 95 children who can't live with their own families, raised in family houses with the aim of safe reunification wherever possible.
What your support provides: an 82 kW solar system for the village — help fund it one kilowatt at a time, about 17,000 baht per kilowatt.Â
Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation
Good Shepherd Phuket Town, a branch of Good Shepherd Thailand, provides holistic support to vulnerable and disadvantaged women, children, and families in Phuket. They currently supports nearly 300 children aged 5 to 18, mostly from migrant worker families. Through education, Thai language lessons, life skills, and healthcare support, it helps children integrate and thrive, offering a safe and supportive community for those often left behind.
What your support provides:Â 500 baht covers one month's lunch for a student; 1,500 baht covers lunch and basic expenses for a student for a month.
Good Shepherd Phuket Town
Since 2001, ACF has supported disadvantaged and at-risk Thai and Burmese children in Phuket through an early-childhood centre, long-term scholarships, and life-skills and sports programmes — keeping children in education who might otherwise never reach a classroom, and walking alongside their families.

What your support provides: Daily milk, lunch and healthy afternoon snacks required for our preschool children at Cornerstone Education Center. You can support a preschool child's yearly education at Cornerstone Education Center by donating to the Bright Beginnings Education Fund.
